Instructions

Pressure Cook Spare Ribs Directions:

  • Set up the pressure cooker with the rack in the bottom and your desired liquid. Water will work but I prefer to infuse with flavor at every step in the process. Add a can of beer or ginger ale it will work!

  • (fill with water the rest of the way or until it comes just to the height of the rack approximately 2 cups.)
  • The ribs and rub…
  • Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. This can be tough I get a good grip with a dry clean paper towel and rip it off. Or just ask the butcher to do it for you.
  • Generously coat the ribs with the rub.
  • Place in pressure cooker standing up or cut into sections.
  • Follow your manufactures instructions for 20-25 min on high pressure with quick release.

Rub Directions:

  • Mix together all ingredients.
  • Split into two rub ribs generously before and after cooking ribs in the pressure cooker
  • After you have released the pressure it is time to transfer the tender fully cooked ribs to a sheet pan.*** Tip for a faster clean up, line the sheet pan with foil. Your welcome**
  • DON’T WORRY ITS NOT PRETTY YET!!!
  • Before
    spare ribs
  • After
    ribs glaze
  • This is where the glaze comes into play. The sugar ( honey) in the glaze will caramelize under the broiler to create the ribby num nums we think of.

Rib Glaze Directions:

  • Melt honey in a saucepot and mix in fish sauce and siracha.
  • Glaze the ribs before caramelizing under the broiler or on the grill.
  • Last but not least is the sauce!!! I like to have this made ahead of time. Honestly, you can make a batch and keep it in the fridge for all your bbq sauce needs.
  • When the ribs are out of the oven slather those puppies in the sauce and you are ready to eat!!!

BBQ Sauce Directions:

  • Sauté onions till very tender then stir in garlic till just fragrant.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer till reduced by half.
  • If you like a smooth Bbq sauce then blend until smooth.
